About Nillage
Thirty years in the same fields.
Nillage is an Egyptian grower and exporter of fresh fruit and vegetables. The farming came first and the export business grew out of it, which is the short explanation for why I run it the way I do.

Omar Aboumoussa
Founder, Nillage
I am not building Nillage around individual shipments. I am building relationships that last for years.
I founded Nillage and I run it. I work across sourcing, packing and export coordination and I keep buyer relationships myself, so there is no distance between the commitment you are given and the operation that has to keep it. Questions are answered here rather than passed along, and when something changes in the field you hear it early instead of on arrival.
I took my undergraduate degree in Business Management at King’s College London and a Master’s in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Queen Mary University of London. I mention it less as a credential than as a habit: I read specifications, timelines and terms the way the importer or the supermarket buyer on the other side reads them, because that is the world I was trained in. It is also why I will tell you a programme is not one we can run properly before you build a plan around it.
Where it began
Long before there was an export operation, there was a farm. What came with it was the slow accumulation of knowledge that only arrives by watching the same land through thirty growing seasons: which varieties travel well, which fields perform, when to pick, and what a good crop actually looks like on the morning it matters.
Nillage was built on top of that, not instead of it. The export side of the business exists to carry the farming side further than the local market could.
We grow more than crops
Nillage is not the only thing I run. Bovino has worked in animal development since 2013, raising cattle and buffalo to mature weight for high-quality meat through carefully formulated feed and vaccination and medication programmes administered by people who know exactly what they are doing.
It is the same discipline applied to a different animal: control the inputs, watch the condition daily, and keep the decisions in-house. Bovino’s relationships with its suppliers and its customers were built on consistency, transparency and trust — the same three things I brought with me into Nillage.
